ABOUT MEG WINSLADE
Meg Winslade is a sculpture and installation based artist. She predominantly uses fabric to create her works, and is passionate about both itβs materiality, and our connection with softness. Influenced by biomorphic and surrealist worksβ, she often includes ambiguous forms, which she hopes will allow scope for the viewer to attach their own story to the work, and potentially personify the pieces, or see them as a mutation rather than art. She attempts to offer a alternate reality. This has lead her to make pieces that are immersive- in that you can physically or hypothetically interact with them. In this project, Meg is attempting to tease sensations of vulnerability one associates with being in the bathroom, whilst also maintaining a playful feel, by depicting it in a new spikey form, to create a sugar coated dystopia. What if the whole world was infected by this spikey disease?
