About Anna Hodgson

Through textile installation, Anna explores the realm of connectivity in the wider world by analysing unpredictable patterns that emerge from repetitive labours. This contemplation can be seen specifically in the biomorphic patterns that appear in her work. Alongside her artistic enquiries, Anna hopes to provide the pleasurable sensory experience that she herself encounters from her tactile fibre forms, to benefit social, physical or cognitive wellness in her audience. Taking an approach similar to the opulent sculptures of artist Hanne Friis, Anna’s response to What If? renders the form of a master bedroom, overly layered with manipulated tulle and beading to emulate notions of decorative comfort turned suffocating in a reflection of what this space has become to many during lockdown. What if we got lost in the consumption of our environment?
